Sound familiar?

“Hi! Do you have an EV charger?”

Every “sorry, no” is a booking that goes to the cottage down the road.

“Can I run a cable through the window?”

3-pin sockets and extension leads aren't built for hours of charging. It's a real fire risk, and an ugly one.

“Why is the electricity bill so high?”

When guests charge for free, you're paying for their fuel.

Manta fixes all three. A proper charger on the drive, guests pay for every kWh they use, and you never have to touch it.

Questions owners ask

What does the £999 actually include?

An Easee smart charger, installation by a qualified electrician (up to 10m of cable from your fuse board), testing and certification, step-by-step help with the government grant, and setting up guest payments so you get paid automatically. It's £1,500, and the £500 government grant brings it to £999.

How do guests pay for their charging?

They scan the charger and pay by card in an app. You choose the price per kWh and the money lands in your bank account. The small admin fee is paid by the driver, so you have no monthly or annual fees.

How does the grant work? Do I have to apply?

Yes, the application is in your name, but you're never on your own. It's a short online form, and we tell you exactly what to put in each box and check it with you before you send it. You'll need one of these: a business-rates bill, a Companies House number or a VAT number for the holiday let. Once you get your voucher, we take it from there and the £500 comes off your bill. The scheme closes on 31 March 2027.

Will the install get in the way of my bookings?

No. It takes about a day and we schedule it around your changeovers.

What if something goes wrong with it?

We're based in Cornwall, not a national call centre. If there's a problem we sort it, so you're never your guests' tech support.

When would it cost more than £999?

If the parking is more than about 10m from your fuse board, needs digging, or your supply needs an upgrade. We'll tell you a fixed price before any work starts, never after.

Get EV-ready before the grant closes
